Daily Cuisine
All of our menu selections are vegetarian. They
are subject to change, depending on availability of
ingredients. We intentionally have a simple menu. We do this
in solidarity with our neighbors around the world who have
limited choices for their own daily menu.
Each day, we have one cream based soup and
one vegan (non-dairy) soup. We have three sandwich
spread selections: one bean spread, one tofu or vegetable
spread, and one cheese spread. We have Garden, Greek, and Seasonal salads. We also have a bakery case with four or
five dessert selections daily. We serve locally roasted, fair-trade coffee, black
and herbal teas, organic apple cider in season, fruit
spritzers and fruit juices.
Some things we're proud of at SMT:
- We use primarily organic ingredients and buy seasonal produce from local farmers whenever possible.
- We bake fresh
bread every weekday. Our whole wheat bread flour, oats, barley,
and corn chips are grown and milled by Whole Grain Milling in Welcome,
MN.
- We have ingredient cards for all of our soups and sandwich spreads.
- We make our food from scratch, including our croutons and salad dressings.
- We use free range eggs from chickens that are not confined.
Saturday soups are delicious reheated soups.
